Proud to be working in collaboration with 141 Social Enterprise
Here at SEED, we are immensely proud to be working in close collaboration with 141 Social Enterprise. 141 Social Enterprise designed our beautiful playstand, and we continue to support them by donating five percent of the profit from every playstand sale to their cause.
This helps support their team of volunteers who make a series of wonderful open-ended wooden toys for disadvantaged children in Thailand. These toys are based on a one-for-one principle; when one wooden toy is sold, volunteers carefully make another from what would usually be considered that toy's waste material. The second toy is subsequently donated to disadvantaged children in Thailand.
A zero waste strategy which gives back to the community.
Heavily influenced by Waldorf philosophy, 141 Social Enterprise firmly believe in slow play which they actively promote through their products. DIY weaving kits, small wooden cameras and open-ended wooden eggs with holes, so animals or vehicles can be created from them. These toys feature prominently and encourage children to use their imaginations.
"We believe that play is an important skill that develops children. Our designs are therefore focused on imagination, nature and action. We believe all human beings have creative potential. We just need to believe in our hands again." Komgrit Trakoon, Co-founder 141 Social Enterprise.
